EAT LOCAL: Just a quick note as this is time sensitive. First, I want to share a few ideas with you on something we all love–olive oil. You have probably heard how so many olive oils in the U.S. have turned how to be fraudulent in some way. Me too and I was worried. One thing I did was order from a small U.S. grower rather than a supermarket. I found that oil through a podcast that I listen to frequently. You can find it at http://www.harvesteating.com/ Chief Keith Snow talks about his cooking adventures there and has an online store with a three-liter bag of olive oil available. I like this option because I can decant into my favorite decorative bottle for use. Another podcast that has lots of useful info is Paleohacks. You can find it at paleohacks.com Some email newsletters are pretty spammy, and I definitely would not recommend them, but this one is a keeper. So I am passing on one of their links that has a free offer. What the heck- we like free stuff, no? Here it is: https://www.freshpressedoliveoil.com/a/APPH005_Ref_MG_Q314/dl At that link, there was good info on the olive oil fraud and the free offer, if you are interested. I am going to try it out! Leave me a comment if you have any olive oil suggestions to share!
September 10–Just a quick update. I did receive my free sample, although I did cancel the club. It was worth tasting the sample though–it had a lively green but not overpowering flavor. If you were looking for variety in your olive oil, this club could be for you. It’s a little pricey for me, but I can vouch for the quality of the sample!
